About

Hi! my name is Onuoha Thomas, a personal development coach, and a consultant.

I’ve had the opportunity to have worked with business leaders, managers, and entrepreneurs across Asia, Africa, Europe, and America. I’m very passionate about helping people break their limiting beliefs, fear, low self-esteem, and increase work productivity that’s why I created Haeloconsults.

It didn’t all start out great for me, I had to also go through my own version of self-doubts, low self-esteem, and imposter syndrome to finally realize how damaging my path was. The realization that I could be whatever I want to be changed my whole perspective about life.

My Story

I finished my first degree in Computer Science in 2014 and decided to try out as an entrepreneur. I worked hard and set up a business but it failed in the first year. After my business failed, I decided to go back to school to get my master’s degree with the hope that it would make me employable. During my master’s I struggled with doubts constantly but with hard work and dedication, I was able to graduate with a distinction in software engineering, and also published different articles in some academic journals and conferences.

I thought my achievements in the academic scene would equip and give me the necessary confidence to go after my desires and also help me get a good job. It didn’t. In fact, it created more insecurity in me as I constantly doubt myself, and my credibility to have achieved a distinction. I feared to take on challenges and would prefer not to tell people I had a master’s because I felt people would question my abilities or judge me.

My breakthrough came about when I started investing in personal development, attending courses, seminars, and workshops. I invested in books and Joined toastmasters to build my confidence and also improve my public speaking and leadership skills.

Gradually I began to see how faulty my perceptions were. I noticed how I continuously sabotage my efforts due to fear – fear of criticism, and judgment. I worried about what people would say or thought about me. Through self-awareness, I realized how my thoughts were creating mental self-torments and the feeling of imposter syndrome.

I’ve come a long way and today I’m grateful for all the lessons I’ve learned thus far. With what I have learned, I’ve been opportune to also help others who suffer from imposter syndrome, low self-esteem, self-doubts, and the feeling of unworthiness. I’ve also been able to utilize my degree and consulted for startups and large organizations around the world.

Imposter syndrome is a big challenge most people face today especially experts and educated people. Been able to help people see through this mental fog has been an exhilarating experience for me.
